HYDERABAD:
Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) leader and former MLC K Dileep Kumar on Wednesday said his party will not join the Mahakutami (grand alliance) of Congress-TDP-CPI if M
Kodandaram is not made chairman of the common minimum programme (CMP) of the grand alliance.
Speaking to reporters after a TJS delegation met Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat in New Delhi on Wednesday, Dileep said it is crucial that Kodandaram is made chairman of the CMP.
“To ensure common agenda of the grand alliance focuses on fulfilling the aspirations of people of Telangana, particularly martyrs, families’ welfare, jobs to students and youth, our leader has to be made chief,” he said. He said the TJS was primarily floated as a political party to fulfil aspirations of Telangana people and martyrs. The TJS also wants the grand alliance to make Kodandaram as chairman of Telangana development martyrs’ welfare council and give it statutory powers by enacting a law in the assembly.
The TJS will launch its campaign with a public meeting at Mahabubnagar on September 30. The party will organise a series of public meetings and invite prominent leaders.
