Hyderabad: Telangana Govt has appointed boxer and two-time world boxing champion
Nikhat Zareen as a deputy superintendent of police (Special Police). After receiving her appointment order, the 28-year-old athlete called on DGP Telangana Jitender on Wednesday and submitted her joining report.
"We proudly welcome two-time world boxing champion and Olympic athlete, Nikhat Zareen, as she takes on her new role as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special Police). Hailing from Nizamabad, she submitted her joining report to me today. Her remarkable achievements inspire Telangana, and we look forward to her continued service to the state," DGP Jitender announced on social media platform X.
According to her appointment order, she will be on probation for two years and six months, and will undergo training as per the govt norms. Earlier, after she submitted a representation seeking a job in the sports quota, the state cabinet passed a resolution, approving her request.
