"There is no clarity about the cause of the death. But the school management in their complaint informed us that Ankitha died after electricity passed through the water when she was in the pool. However, at the same time there were other students in the pool who were safe", Ghatkesar sub-inspector R Ravi said.
Police said that the school authorities alleged that electricity passed from the motor, which was located in the vicinity of the pool. A case of 304 a (negligence) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Srinidhi resorts based on the complaint given by school authorities.
At the time of giving complaint, the school teachers came forward as witnesses and they all are sticking to one version that the incident took place because of electrocution, so initially a case is registered against the resort but the investigation is continuing since there is no clarity about the cause of the death,'' Ravi said.
According to police, there were neither burn injuries nor any symptoms of getting drowned. Aniktha Patel's father NR Patel is a businessman and her family came to Hyderabad from Gujarath nearly 20 years ago.
