Hyderabad: Film director Ram Gopal Varma lodged a complaint with Panjagutta police alleging that film producers Natti Karuna and Natti Kranthi have fabricated a document to file a civil suit against him.

Varma

approached police stating that he is the proprietor of the firm, Company, with its office at Doyan Jyothy apartment in Srinagar Colony.

RGV

told police that he has completed directing a movie titled ‘Khatra’ and that it was slated for release on April 8 this year. However,

Kranthi

and Karuna, representing their company, Natti’s Entertainments, filed a civil suit before the city civil court, Hyderabad, on April 7 seeking an injunction against Varma to not release the movie.
Varma alleged that Kranthi and Karuna fabricated the letterhead of Company in which he is the sole proprietor and also forged his signature on the letterhead to create a document titled ‘payment assurance letter’ (dated November 30, 2020) to file the civil suit.
“I have never signed any payment assurance letter on November 30, 2020. The letter they used was fabricated and the proof for that is the address on my official letterhead is different from the address on the fabricated one,” Varma alleged. “We have sent the complaint for a legal opinion and based on the advice, we will initiate legal action,” Panjagutta inspector Niranjan Reddy said.
