HYDERABAD: Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has directed officials to complete Miralam tank beautification and amusement park at Kishanbagh works before the World Metropolis Congress in October.
The mayor held a review meeting with the officials on issues, especially beautification of roads leading to heritage structures and heritage sites in South Zone of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday.

Majid Hussain asked the engineering wing to beautify all approach roads to Charminar with greenery and directed them to remove the grill on central median from Bahadurpura to Charminar. Apart from this, Charminar, Mecca Masjid and Clock Tower at MJ market should be decked up for the World Metropolis Congress as many delegates from various countries might visit the heritage structures in the Old City.
He also reviewed works pertaining to Shastripuram junction improvement, which were already given technical sanction by the corporation. The officials said compensation to CPDCL has been paid for shifting high tension lines, which would be completed within 15 to 20 days. He sought to know the progress of road widening at Aliabad and multipurpose stadium at Chandrayangutta. GHMC engineering wing officials said tenders were called for the project and works would commence within 10 days.
