“i am impressed with the fact that even the first telugu dictionary finds a place at the national library,� he added. libraries are the custodians of knowledge, culture and the historical heritage. salar jung museum director a k v s reddy said salar jung iii promoted education and encouraged the habit of reading books. national library director s chakravarti said one of the basic objectives of the national library was to acquire publications as produced in india, in whatever language and form for circulation or sale, and preserve them in original form for posterity. the two-day workshop is being jointly organised by the national library of india, kolkata, and the salar jung museum.
