HYDERABAD: The South Zone police have issued a lookout circular to the

Bureau of Immigration

to prevent murder accused Mujeebullah Shareef from fleeing the country.

Shareef, who is a lawyer by profession is allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of 50-year old Mirza Khaleel Baig, proprietor of a printing press. The victim was stabbed to death on October 3 in Moosabowli, under the Hussaini Alam police station limits, by a team of hired assassins.

Cops said that they have intensified the hunt for the accused after the sessions court in Nampally dismissed his anticipatory bail.

As a part of criminal conspiracy, five assailants intercepted Khaleel near his house. They dragged Khaleel out of his car and stabbed him to death. The chilling episode was witnessed by the victim’s son

Mirza Jaffar Baig

.

According to the police, Khaleel was reluctant to sell a 58 square yard land parcel which he inherited. Shareef was his immediate neighbour and had already bought a part of the same property from the victim’s brother, who cops identified as Mirza Khader Baig, around six months ago.

Cops explained that the accused allegedly tried to take possession of the property and demolished a structure there. As a result, both the parties clashed and Shareef was booked by the Hussaini Alam police.

So far six accused have been arrested in the murder case, but Shareef, who is the prime accused, has evaded the police dragnet and is trying to obtain anticipatory bail, cops said. The accused is being chased jointly by the special teams of South Zone police and Commissioner's Task force. There are 14 accused in the case who have conspired and actively taken part in the murder. The accused also include the brothers and kin of the deceased.

Speaking to TOI, Charminar assistant commissioner of police K Ashok Chakravarthy said, “The accused has given police a slip in Gulbarga, Karnataka. He was given shelter by his younger brother. Special teams of police are hunting for him. We suspect his involvement in two other murder cases which were reported in areas under the Panjagutta and Miyapur police stations limits.”
