HYDERABAD: A road inauguration ceremony at Kukatpally on Sunday turned ugly when a TDP corporator and a local Congress leader entered into an argument and exchanged blows. The two later lodged complaints against each other and police booked cases against them.

The MLA arrived at the spot at 10 am, inaugurated the road and left the place after delivering a speech.
Trouble started after the MLA left the spot. Hydernagar TDP corporator Bhanu Prasad picked up an argument with Congress activists alleging that they had misinformed him about the inauguration schedule.
"The corporator alleged that he was intentionally misinformed that the function would start at 11 am. By the time he reached the spot, the event was almost over," Kukatpally ACP T Sharat Kumar said.
While Bhanu was expressing his discontent to local Congress activists, Narne Srinivas, who unsuccessfully contested GHMC elections against Bhanu Prasad, intervened and the duo ended up in a heated argument. During the altercation, both started exchanging blows and their followers immediately separated the duo.
Later, both of them approached the Kukatpally police and lodged complaints against each other. Cases were booked against both the accused under Section 324 (causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, no arrests were made.
