Large no of fish die in a lake in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: In a major
environmental mishap
early Thursday, chemical toxins from KhajipallyPharma industrial area
kills around 23 lakh fish in Ganidgudem lake on the city outskirts. Out of 30 lakh fish, almost 70 per cent died due to chemicals released by pharma companies entering the 266 acre lake due to the recent rains.Telangana PCB officials
have preliminary confirmed chemical toxicity, lifted samples and inspected the industries.Fisheries Cooperative Society
says the loss would be more than two crores rupees as most of theRohu species
