HYDERABAD: Yacharam police arrested eight members of a gang indulging in land grabbing. The accused forged land documents and obtained 1.12 crore compensation from the government against land acquisition for establishment of Pharma City at Medipally village in Yacharam.
The accused are identified as M Laxmi Kanthaiah, B Rajashekar, B Appalachary, Ch Venkata Ramana, I Gopal, N Narsimha, I Srinu and Santhosh Goud.
Main accused Kanthaiah knew 76-year-old Satyanarayana, owner of 9 acre land at Medipally. In fact, Kanthaiah had helped Satyanarayana purchase that land 20 years ago. As Satyanarayana lives at Mandapeta in East Godavari district of
Andhra Pradesh, Kanthaiah was taking care of the property.
Kanthaiah obtained photocopies of the property documents along with the Aadhaar card copy of Satyanarayana. He made Appalachary to impersonate as Satyanarayana and made a sale deed of the land in the names of N Narsimha and I Srinu by collecting 45 lakh.
Narasimha and Srinu used the sale deed papers and gave consent to the government to acquire the land to establish Pharma City and received 1.12 crore compensation. Based on Satyanarayana's complaint, RDO of Ibrahimpatnam notified the police and cops arrested the accused.
