sources point out that the infighting was affecting the party image in the district. the manner in which both the groups had conducted themselves during the janmabhoomi programmes had upset the party leadership. it may be recalled that the naidu had intervened twice in the recent past and advised the leaders of both the groups to get united. but there has not been much of improvement in the situation. the two factions led by s v subba reddy and t g venkatesh have been fighting each other for the last four-five years. the subba reddy group felt left out and hurt when shobha nagi reddy failed to find a berth in the recent cabinet expansion. soon equations started changing and t g venkatesh, who was a close associate of kurnool mp k e krishna murty, parted ways as krishna murty joined hands with s v subba reddy. the dissident group leaders, venkatesh and bhuma nagireddy, had been making open statements against the ministers, k e prabhakar, and n m d farooq. t g venkatesh did not invite the ministers for several official programmes held as part of janmabhoomi.
