KTR should get award for Kaleshwaram lies: Goud
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday said BRS working president KT Rama Rao should be given an award for telling lies at Columbia Business School in New York and that irrigation water was supplied to 45 lakh acres through the Kaleshwaram project.KTR, who is on a visit to the US, said the Kaleshwaram project was designed to irrigate 45 lakh acres. However, the TPCC president termed it as tall claims about the Kaleshwaram project by KTR and alleged that he conveniently forgot the fact that Muralidhar, the engineer-in-chief appointed by the BRS govt in the past, himself said that 86,000 acres were given water through Kaleshwaram. On the other hand, the Congress govt has not only taken up the task of repairing and reviving the three barrages of the Kaleshwaram project, but also complete other pending irrigation projects in a phased manner, he said.He was addressing the party workers in Mahabubnagar district and assure the people that the Congress govt would bring about a permanent transformation in the lives of farmers by providing irrigation water to hundreds of thousands of acres upon the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) project."The BJP govt at the Centre is doing injustice to Telangana. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi having assured to give national project status during one of his public meetings in Mahabubnagar, the national project status has not been accorded till date to PRLIS or any other project in Telangana," Mahesh Goud said. He called upon the party workers to go to the doorsteps of voters in urban and rural areas and expose the 8 lakh crore debt left behind by the previous BRS govt, and the continued injustice being done to Telangana by the Modi govt.
