HYDERABAD: Union minister G Kishan Reddy demanded that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao release data on state government borrowings and loans availed by each corporation.


He alleged Telangana had taken highest loans in shortest period among all states. Addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters on Saturday, the minister questioned why KCR skipped Niti Aayog meeting held in Delhi on Saturday.


“CM KCR claims to be ‘Desh ka netha’ (politicain of the country), but does not attend the meeting which discusses about planning for the country and how to develop the country in the next 25 years,” Kishan Reddy said. He said the RBI put conditions on borrowings of the state, but the Telangana CM has criticised this.

The union minister also said the state government was planning to auction 30,000 acres by lifting GO 111 in the city. “If the government goes on selling the land, what about land to construct hospitals and for other public purposes,” he said.
