Hyderabad women qualify for knockouts

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad defeated Haryana by 17 runs in the BCCI women’s U-23 T20 tournament on Thursday. Trisha Poojitha was the top scorer with 52 as Hyderabad posted 130 for five and bundled out Haryana for 113. With this win, Hyderabad qualified for the knockouts to be played in Indore.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 130/5 in 20 overs (G Trisha 27, Trisha Poojitha 52, Mamatha 27) bt Haryana 113 in 19.4 overs (Triveni Vasistha 29).

Hyderabad wrest lead

Hyderabad took a first innings lead of 38 runs on the opening day of their Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Saurashtra. B Ahwinan Ram and V Yashveer were the pick of the bowlers as Hyderabad shot out their opponents for 75. But Dharmik Jasani struck back with six for 28 as Hyderabad were dismissed for 113.
