The two accused, who had been in collusion with three others - Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Bithi Begum and Sojib Shaik - were running a brothel in Chatrinaka area during the time of their arrest. When police conducted a raid at a residence 2019, six Bangladeshi women, who were illegally brought to India by the accused, were rescued.
"The investigation established that Salam and Shiuli Khatun along with Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Bithi Begum, Sojib Shaik, Ruhul Amin Dhali and others, were trafficking young Bangladeshi girls into India through a well-organized network of agents in both the countries. They accused used to lure the victims by giving them false inducements of lucrative jobs, and subsequently forcing them into prostitution,’’ the press read.
