Hyderabad man murders his alcoholic father
HYDERABAD: Fed up with the daily harassment, a man throttled his 55-year-old father, an alcoholic, to death and dumped the body in an abandoned well near their house at Gandiguda in Shamshabad. In another incident, a 39-year-old widower was stabbed to death by his friend in a drunken brawl at Malkajgiri on Tuesday night.
In the first case, the murder happened on August 9, but it came to light on Tuesday after locals confronted the 25-year-old man, Md Ahmed, to tell the truth about his missing father, Md Faheem, a farm labourer from Gandiguda.
According to police, Faheem was an alcoholic and used to harass his family members everyday in an inebriated state. Fed up with the behaviour of Faheem, Ahmed throttled him at their house on August 9 night and dumped the body in an abandoned agricultural well at Gandiguda. On Tuesday, when confronted by locals about Faheem’s sudden missing, Ahmed told them about the murder and the locals in turn alerted police. The decomposed body was recovered from the well and shifted for post-mortem. Ahmed was taken into custody.
In another incident, Chandrasekhar, 35, of Vijay Nagar Colony in Malkajgiri, stabbed his friend Samuel, 39, to death at the latter’s house during a drunken brawl. The two were close friends and alcoholics.
Due to alcohol addiction, Samuel’s wife had committed suicide in 2002, while Chandrasekhar’s wife eloped with another man two years ago. On Monday night, they started consuming liquor at Samuel’s house. After a few pegs, Samuel started making fun of Chandrasekhar and the latter stabbed him to death using a kitchen knife. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when locals alerted police about the body of Samuel lying in his house. Chandrasekhar has been taken into custody.
