Hyderabad court sentences man to 5 years' RI, fined Rs 5 lakh in dowry case

HYDERABAD: In a first-of-its-kind verdict, a Hyderabad court on Wednesday sentenced Narasimha Reddy, a private sector employee, to five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh in a dowry harassment case. The court directed that the fine amount be paid to his wife.While Reddy was convicted, his family members were acquitted due to lack of sufficient evidence.
