Hyderabad: BHEL woman employee kills self; accuses colleagues of 'spying' on her

HYDERABAD: A 33-year-old Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) woman employee committed suicide at her residence in Miyapur on Thursday morning. The suicide note reveals the women suspected that her phone was tapped by her colleagues.
The victim Neha K, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was staying in Bhanu Township in Miyapur. She hung herself on Thursday morning at around 10.30am when her husband, Sunil and in-laws were at home.
According to police, the victim suspected that one of her senior colleagues and six other staff members were spying on her by tapping phones of her family members.

"In her suicide note, she also revealed that even in Bhopal BHEL office, some of her senior colleagues were spying on her and following her," said Miyapur Inspector, Venkatesh Shamala.
The victim had approached the Miyapur police who directed her to the cybercrime police station. "The cybercrime cops had filed a petition on her request and verified whether her phones were being tapped. But they found nothing suspicious," added the officer.
Police have registered a case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC against the DGM and six other colleagues and launched an investigation.
