Honour killing? Newly-wed girl set ablaze

): A 22-year-old girl, Pindi Anuradha, died on Saturday night after she was set ablaze by her parents in a suspected case of honour killing. The incident occurred in Jannaram mandal. DCP Venugopal Rao said Anuradha had married a

youth, Lakshmirajam, on December 3 in Arya Samaj. Her parents opposed the marriage. Sensing danger, the couple approached police for protection.


But when the parents learnt that Anuradha approached the cops, they went to the police station and attacked them. Anuradha was severely injured. Later they took her to a nearby hillock and set her ablaze. When informed ,cops registered a case and the parents were taken to custody. The investigation is still on.
