HC refuses to interfere in Singareni union polls
HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Tuesday refused to interfere in the trade union polls in Singareni Collieries Company Ltd which are scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy was hearing a petition filed by Katkuri Srinivas Reddy, president of Telangana Regional Singareni Karmika Sangham, questioning the decision of the election officials who refused permission to their union to contest in the ongoing election.

The judge, however, issued notices to the company, state government and central labour commissioner, asking them to file their replies to the contentions raised by the new union.
While the authorities said it was a new union which did not complete the required formalities after its registration, the union representatives said the statutory gap of one year after the registration was over and hence the question of they suffering ineligibility should not come in their way.
The bench said that it cannot stall the election process at the last minute and said that it will examine the legal validity of the action of the officials after going through the counters of the officials.
