Government's Cinevaram event turns springboard for filmmakers

HYDERABAD: A film movement is taking birth at Ravindra Bharathi, thanks to the efforts of the department of culture. For film buffs, the Saturday night fever at Ravindra Bharathi has become an event not to be missed.
At the `Cinevaram' programme at Ravindra Bharathi, filmmakers get to watch short films and other work being made by passionate young directors who dream of making it big in the industry .“It is an exhilarating experience for the participants.

When they see their films on the big screen, it gives them the confidence to dream bigger,“ said Mamidi Harikrishna, director of culture. Harikrishna also provides guidance and tips to young filmmakers to improve their content. Well-known film personalities too turn up at the event to interact with the aspiring filmmakers. Recently , Shekhar Kammula, who made `Fidaa', spoke at the event.
The springboard even helped the director of a YouTube hit short film, `Sainma', make it big. The film was screened at Cinevaram last year and its director, Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, went on to make `Pelli Choopulu'!
