Ex-MLA mulls appeal against HC verdict
Hyderabad: Former MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh on Monday said his lawyers are exploring the possibility of going for an appeal against the high court verdict, which upheld the Centre's decision to cancel his Indian citizenship.
Reacting to the development, Ramesh said he was deeply disappointed by the court's verdict. He said the petitions against his citizenship were mainly to create obstacles in his political career.
"I share the opinion that this judgment is not objective. This pertains to the key issue of the case concerning the implementation of Section 10.3 of the Citizenship Act, as ordered in its judgment by the Telangana high court in the year 2019," he said.
In a statement, he said there might be many ups and downs in political life, but it was a rare and great fortune that he was able to withstand all of them by himself, with the cooperation of friends and well-wishers.
