HYDERABAD: Union minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution Piyush Goyal on Friday slammed the TRS government saying that the free food distribution programme of the Central government was ignored.
Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha raised by BJP member and OBC national morcha president K Laxman, the minister said that the Centre had to take harsh decisions as the Telangana govt had stopped the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
“Telangana government did not take the supplying of free rice to the poor, all states took it seriously, we had to force Telangana to distribute food to the poor, and soon we will make AP do the same," the minister said.
He also added that the scheme would soon resume in Telangana.
