According to DCP Kiran Khare, the accused murdered Akash due to personal rivalry at Imran wrestling centre at Karwan on April 4.
Akash and his brother Rahul were arrested in October 2022 for assaulting Kranthi Sagar and others during Dasara celebrations. After they came out of prison, Kranthi Sagar decided to take revenge. He purchased a country-made firearm along with ammunition for 79,000 from Ranjit Singh of Bihar.
On April 4, Imran lured Akash to the centre to sort out his differences with his rivals. Suddenly, Kranthi Sagar and Chandra, who were waiting in a room, attacked Akash. Kranthi fired four times and Akash was hit twice. Kranthi and Chandra stabbed Akash and killed him, the DCP said.
