First day Adurs for Jr NTR
HYDERABAD: Despite TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Raos daughter Kavitha sounding a threat to stop screening of Adurs, the film got off to a good opening across the state on Wednesday amidst tight security. Except in Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts where the screening was stopped, the Junior NTR-starrer ran to packed houses everywhere.
In Nizamabad, Junior NTR fans flocked to watch the movie even as a huge posse of police force stood guard to prevent TRS activists from attacking the cinema.

Sources said the fan frenzy was such that Nizamabad MLC and TDP leader Arikela Narsa Reddy encouraged his followers and party workers to watch Adurs by purchasing 100 tickets for the matinee show. Police foiled TRS activists bid to barge into the theatre and arrested three party leaders.
In Kamareddy, a theatre management voluntarily stopped the screening of the film. In Warangal and Karimnagar districts too, managements voluntarily stopped the screening.
TRS activists staged a dharna in front of Ramakrishna theatre at Jagityal protesting the screening of the film. In four other theatres at Godavarikhani, Sircilla, Jagityal mandal of Karimnagar district, the film was not shown.
Similary, in Adilabad, Mancherial and Nirmal towns the movie was not screened. In Miryalaguda, Suryapet and Kodad in Nalgonda it was screened, while in Khammam there was no disruption to the film.
Interestingly, there was a huge turnout of Junior NTRs fans from Telangana in Tirupti . Several fans, fearing attack on theatres by TRS activists in Telangana, came to the temple town a couple of days ago. It was a double treat for them since they could have darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and enjoy their hero’s film after booking the tickets in advance, a trade analyst said. Adurs ran to packed houses in all the seven cinemas exhibiting the film in the town.

The fan frenzy was such that the theatre owners started the show as early as 6 in the morning on Wednesday.
T Suresh, who runs a small kirana shop in Warangal, said, It is wrong to link the film to the Telangana issue. While the actor has stated that entertainment has no boundaries , TRS has called for a ban on the film in Telangana districts . This is absurd.
Meanwhile, Vaishnava sect people gave a representation to the governor objecting to the lyrics of a song in the film which allegedly showed the Brahmin priests in poor light.
Security tightened at theatres
Amidst stray incidents of protests, Adurs was screened in the city on Wednesday. At about 10.30 am, about 25 TRS activists staged a dharna in front of Odeon theatre where the Jr NTR-starrer was being screened. Raising Jai Telangana slogans, the agitators demanded stalling screening of the film. However, the protesters were picked up by police and spirited away. They were later set free. Some theatre managements adopted wait and watch policy for the mood of the public before screening the movie. A few theatres cancelled their morning shows and screened the movie in the later shows. Except Rajyalakshmi cinema in Uppal, which cancelled all the shows on Wednesday, other theatres screened Adurs without any trouble. Cine Planet in Kompally began screening the movie from matinee show, where as Ranga theatre in Jeedimetla started it with first show. Similarly, Shashikala cinema in Sanatnagar and Talkie Town in Miyapur started screening the movie from matinee show. There were no incidents of violence reported in Cyberabad or Hyderabad police commissionerate limits as at each theatre screening Adurs about 10 police personnel, including some para military personnel, were deployed.
