New art gallery in city gives peep into digital world

Hyderabad: Large paintings with bold strokes adorned the halls of the newly-launched Sublime Art Galleria in the city on Friday. Bengaluru-based Sublime opened its second art gallery at Prestige Skytech in Financial District with its inaugural event displaying works by Hyderabad-based artist Vijit Pillai. Uzma Irfan, founder of Sublime, said: “We are thrilled to bring Sublime Art Galleria to Hyderabad, a city with a rich cultural heritage and a burgeoning appreciation for the arts. Our mission is to foster a deeper connection between artists and art enthusiasts.”The inaugural event ‘Amalgamation’ displayed Vijit’s works which focus on myth and symbolism. For the advertising professional-turned-artist, digital art gives a freedom that other styles never did. “Unlike freehand painting, where it takes hours to produce art work, paintings referenced by photos give a lot of freedom,” Vijit said. The gallery also plans workshops, talks, and community engagement initiatives.
