DSP & co whip up a grand musical finale at three-day college fest

The three-day annual cultural fest Sintillashunz at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology over the weekend was a hub of activity. Ravishing ramp walks, mesmerising dances, melodious fusion music, electrifying EDM and tantalising Tollywood music — the fest had something in it for everyone.
Traditional yet trendy
Day one of the fest saw the students turn up in ethnic attire.And boy! Did they walk around confidently flaunting their desi look. While boys opted for kurta-pyjamas and dhotis, the girls looked sizzling in their bright-coloured sarees. And they brought the heat to the stage courtesy a ramp walk and fashion show that saw the pottas and pottis sashay down the ramp amidst rounds of cheers from their college mates. City fusion band Capricio enthralled the audience with their versions of songs like Gabbar Singh and Urvasi. The students wrapped up proceedings on the first day by dancing their hearts out to dandiya tunes.
EDM all the way
Shedding their traditional attire, the dudes and chicas brought out their dancing shoes for one massive party as Hyderabadi EDM duo Nine FX got the crowd swaying and grooving to their progressive house tunes. Earlier in the day, the Livewire Crew, a dance crew from the host college pumped up the crowd with their coordinated steps and energy sapping manoeuvres.
DSP brings the house down
The 10000-strong crowd, brimming with anticipation, had just one thing on their mind. “Cocacola-Pespi, DSP sexy!” chanted the crowd as they waited for Tollywood’s very own rock star. And it wasn’t just Devi Sri Prasad, playback singers like Hemachandra, Geeta Madhuri, Raina Reddy and Sagar took turns to warm the crowd with popular numbers like Love Cheyala Vadha, Love Me Again, Legend, Super Machi, Pakka Local, Gongura Thota Kada and Aru Adugula Bullet.
The stage seemed perfect for DSP to take the audience on a journey of Tollywood music. Joined on stage with a host of dancers and musicians, the composer sang songs like Naa Manasu Neelo, Feel My Love, Pranaamam, Yahoo Yahoo, Sundari, Kaatama Rayuduand and Ammudu Let’s Do Kummudu. Not just limiting himself to singing, DSP even donned the hat of a beat boxer as he belted out some groovy beats in between his set much to the delight of the audience. The loudest response from the crowd was for the trending song Ratthaalu as DSP ended his performance on a high note.
