HYDERABAD: Two days after the state law department accorded permission to prosecute dreaded rowdy-sheeter
Ayub Khan irowdy-sheeter Ayub Khann a fake passport case, the Kamatipura police said on Tuesday they were seeking non-bailable warrants against his wife and brother-in-law.
Since the arrest of Ayub Khan by the south zone police in December last year, Hafeeza Begum reportedly went underground and filed a bail petition before the high court.
However, the petition was dismissed and she has been on the run since then.Khan's brother-in-law Mohammed Khaiseruddin is holed up in Dubai.
It is alleged that Hafeeza acted as a conduit between the passport broker Mohammed Khaleel Ahmed and her husband, who at that time was in jail.
In 2010, he obtained a fake passport on a Golconda address. The Kamatipura police immediately booked Ayub Khan and others in the fake passport case. Later, the police also arrested Mohammed Khaleel Ahmed (passport agent), Qazi Syed Muqtadir Ali Quadri (Qazi), Mohammed Naseeruddin (deputy qazi), and Pottem Ravindranath (advocate) While Venkateswara, senior superintendent, regional passport office, Hyderabad, obtained a conditional bail from the high court, the government has given a green signal to prosecute all the accused under the Indian Passport Act.
The government said that all the accused should be tried for the offences pu nishable under sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery), 471 (using forged document), 109 (abettment), 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) with 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 & Section 12 (1) (a) (b) of Indian Passport Act, 1967 registered case in Kamatipura police station.
“We are obtaining nonbailable warrants against the wife of Ayub Khan and another accused. Soon a charge-sheet is going to be made against the accused,“ said K Ashoka Chakravarthy, ACP Charminar.
On January 25, the Hyderabad police slapped stringent PD Act against Ayub Khan under which the dreaded criminal will be under the detention for one year.
