'Congress has no choice in Siddipet'

HYDERABAD: K Chandrashekhar Rao is confident that the clout and rapport he enjoys with Sonia Gandhi leaves the state Congress no option but to support his nephew T Harish Rao in the Siddipet byelection next month.
Speaking to The Times of India on Tuesday, the TRS chief claimed that he got a clear assurance from Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh that no Congress candidate would be fielded for the by-election.
"The Siddipet seat was vacated by me. How can anyone claim that seat," he asked. "People who failed to get their deposits in the elections are dreaming of taking on the TRS," he said.
