HYDERABAD: Telangana chief electoral officer Vikas Raj served a notice on Congress for alleged 'demeaning and vulgar' comments made by CM A Revanth Reddy against BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao following a complaint by a BRS leader.

Vikas Raj asked G Niranjan, TPCC senior vice-president and chairman of Election Commission coordination committee, to file the reply of Revanth in 48 hours.

M Sreenivas Reddy, BRS general secretary, filed the complaint against Revanth and Congress leaders alleging that by making personal, threatening and demeaning remarks against KCR, they were violating poll code.

The CEO said: "Submit the explanation to the contentions raised therein within 48 hours. In the event of no response from your side within the stipulated time, it will be presumed that you have nothing to say in the matter and appropriate action or decision will be taken without making any further reference to you, as per law established for violation of the model code."
