Clear air on 4% Muslim quota: Shabbir to govt

Hyderabad: Congress has demanded that the TRS government issue an official clarification that it has restored four per cent reservation for Muslims in government jobs and education.
Former minister Md Ali Shabbir said there is lot of confusion among Muslims over the government’s revised roster points issued while enhancing the Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservation from 6% to 10%.
Shabbir Ali submitted a separate memorandum to chief secretary Somesh Kumar seeking clarification on the Muslim quota.
“Though the state government, after we brought to its notice the confusion, issued a rejoinder that the four per cent quota for Muslims is intact, the rejoinder did not have the name of any department nor name and signature of any officer,” Shabbir Ali said. Shabbir Ali said the rejoinder did not look official.
