GUNTUR: A cheating case has been registered against a sub-inspector (SI) of police at Bhattiprole station following a complaint filed by a woman accusing him of ditching her. According to information, 20-year-old Maila Anu Pravallika alleged that SI Vijaya Kumar, presently working at Inkollu in Prakasam district, had deceived her after having a five-year long affair with her.

She alleged that he had dumped her after getting a job department as SI in 2010. She said that she came to know that the family of Vijaya Kumar was looking for marriage alliances for him. She urged the Bhattiprole police to investigate the matter and do justice.
Pravallika is the daughter of Vijaya Kumar's maternal aunt. While Vijaya Kumar is a native of Repalle town, Pravallika resides in Vellatur in Bhattiprole mandal.
A case has been booked. tnnBhattiprole SI Anand said a case has been registered under section 420 of IPC against the SI Vijaya Kumar and required action would be taken after an investigation.
