CCTV helped in rescuing kidnapped 4-month-old

in the city. At 2 am on Wednesday , Md Mustaq, 42, an auto driver, and his friend, Md Yousuf, 25, a cook from Habeebnagar,

kidnapped the boy

, Faizan Khan, when he was sleeping next to his mother, Humera Begum, 21, on the footpath in front of Himmathram Jewellers near Dargah Yousafain.

At 4 am, Humera realised that her

child was missing

. She lodged a complaint with police and Nampally police analysed the CCTV footage near the location. “The two kidnapping the boy was captured by CCTV cameras,“ Nampally inspector R Sanjay Kumar said.

With the help of locals, police identified the two and kept a watch on Mustaq's house at Dargah Shah Khamoosh near Aghapura. At 6 pm, cops nabbed them. The boy was rescued from the house and handed over to his mother.

On interrogation, Mustaq confessed that his friend, Md Ghouse of

Rehmatnagar

, wanted to adopt a child and sought his help. Mustaq then told Yousuf about Ghouse's request and Yousuf came up with a plan to kidnap Humera's son. “They planned to sell the boy to Ghouse," the inspector added.

After kidnapping the boy , they took him to Ghouse, but the latter refused to take the boy as his parents were not accompanying. Mustaq then took the boy to his house, but police tracked them and rescued the boy.
