HYDERABAD: Narsingi police have booked actor Raj Tarun and others after his former girlfriend, Lavanya Manepally, alleged that she and her family were allegedly assaulted and robbed by the actor and his associates on June 30.
In her complaint filed on Aug 26, Lavanya, 36, said she had been living with Raj Tarun at Villa 13, Pavani Boulevard, Kokapet, since 2016. She claimed that after moving out to Madhapur in March 2024 following differences with her, Raj Tarun allegedly sent goons multiple times to force her to vacate the villa.
According to her, unidentified men attacked her on June 30 while she was home alone. They allegedly dragged her outside, assaulted her with belts and glass bottles, looted jewellery, killed her pet dog, and emptied the house of valuables. "Manikanta Thambadi along with about 50 others forcefully evicted me. They disconnected power and water supply and took away 15 years of belongings, including gold, documents, vehicles and electronics," Lavanya alleged.
Based on her complaint, police registered a case against Raj Tarun, Manikanta, Raj Shekar Gudimella, Sushil Augustine, Ankith Goud, Ravi Teja Alamanda and others under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The case is being investigated by Mokila police.
Earlier, in July 2024, Lavanya had filed another complaint against Raj Tarun at Narsingi police station, accusing him of cheating her on the pretext of marriage, intimidation, and exploitation.
