HYDERABAD: Over 25 cyclists from various parts of the city drove all the way to Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad to pay tributes and hold a candle vigil for the 17-year-old student Mounica, who was crushed to death under the wheels of RTC bus. The incident happened when Mounica was footboarding on the overcrowded bus, owing to the poor frequency of buses to the college.

The bus fleet in city is only 3,000 and we need another 8,000 buses to accommodate students. We request the government to invest in public transport and avoid loss of young lives," said t he bicycle mayor. Many others also took to Twitter with the hashtag #MounikaToBeLast to voice their demand on the need for more buses.
