HYDERABAD: Dreaded rowdy sheeter Mohammed Ayub Khan on Friday was released from jail to attend the 7th day ceremony of his mother. The 3rd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate granted one day escort bail to him.
Chanchalguda jail authorities released him amid heavy police escort at 6am in the morning. He will be sent back to jail tomorrow at 5:30 pm in the evening.
On December 23, Mahbooba Begum, mother Khan died. He filed a petition before the court pleading that he be allowed to take part in the last funeral rites. But since there were holidays, his release was not possible.
The court on Thursday granted one day escort bail and allowed him to take part in the 7th day ceremony. After release Khan went to the graveyard near his residence in Kamatipura. “Although Khan has been released under police escort, local police have also made necessary bandobust near his residence,” said S Sudarshan Inspector, Kamatipura police station.
Ayub Khan was arrested in a fake passport case last year but Hyderabad police invoked the PD act against him in January this year. Police are jittery as the detention period of the rowdy sheeter is ending in a couple of weeks.
