NELLORE: Stating that rottela panduga (festival of breads) is a symbol of communal harmony, municipal administration minister P Narayana has assured the pilgrims of putting all arrangements in place for the four-day long festival at the Baarah Shaheed Dargah in the town.
After reviewing the arrangements with the district officials here on Monday, Narayana said that they were taking every care to avoid any kind of inconvenience to the pilgrims.
He said that they were expecting about 8 lakh devotees to visit the town and offer prayers. Although, the festival of rotis would begin on Thursday, pilgrims began reaching the town ahead of the schedule, said the minister.
He explained that they have purchased about 250 e-toilets to set up makeshift toilets in the town.
He said that CC cameras have also been installed inside and the surroundings of dargah premises. He said that about 1500 police personnel would attend the bandobust duties round the clock. Municipal commissioner Chakradhar Rao, Mayor Abdul Azeez, dargah committee president Fayazuddin were also present.
