Annoyed bank manager kills neighbour's dog in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A branch manager of a prominent private bank, who got irritated with his neighbour's dog, allegedly killed him by firing a pellet using air gun at Babu Nagar in Saroornagar on Sunday.
Saroornagar police said that the accused 38-year-old Avinash Karan was booked under sections 429(Mischief by killing or maiming cattle), 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC besides section 11 of Protection of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCAA) based on the complaint given by Raju Yadav.

Police said that it was at around 4pm on Sunday that Avinash allegedly killed the dog on the road, in front of his house. The children and other locals who were near by immediately alerted Raju Yadav about the death of the dog.
After Avinash was taken into custody by police, the officials came to know that the weapon used was air gun and the dog died after it suffered a pellet. "Avinash told us that since the dog used to frequently enter his house whenever the gate was open, he fired pellet to scare him but he didn't expect that the dog will suffer fatal injury," Saroornagar Inspector E Srinivas Reddy told TOI.
The dog was a stray but as he used to visit Raju Yadav's house frequently, he used to feed him. The dog used to stay in Raju's house.
Avinash bought the air gun for Rs 18,000 to protect his pets. Avinash was taken into custody and police are questioning him. The police shifted the dog to hospital for Post-Mortem Examination (PME).
Police said that they are verifying whether Arms Act can be invoked in this case or not.
