Andhra Pradesh students get good scores in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test

HYDERABAD: Though exempted from the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for this year, students from the state secured good ranks in the test the results of which came out on Wednesday. Y Rohit Kumar with 37{+t}{+h} rank in NEET stood as the highest scorer from the state. Rohit Kumar who hails from Vijayawada bagged the second rank in Eamcet-2013.
Other students from the state who secured ranks within 100 in NEET include A Praveena, Y Abhiram, M Jagdesh Reddy, P P Pranav, SSK Venkaesh, G Abhinav, P Likitha and S Dheeraj Reddy.

A Supreme Court order had earlier exempted AP students from using the test scores for admissions to colleges in the state. The students who qualified in NEET, however, can apply for medical admissions in colleges run by the central government including military medical colleges. For admissions to prestigious medical colleges including AIIMS, New Delhi NEET scores are not used.
NEET-2013 had replaced several national level entrance examinations including AIPMT, AFMC and BMU. A total of two lakh candidates appeared for the examination which was held on May 5 out of which 60,000 were from the state.
The OMR sheets of students who appeared for the entrance test are available online on the CBSE website www.cbseneet.nic.in. Students who want to apply for re-evaluation of their papers can avail the same facility by paying up Rs 1,000. If the evaluators are found to be wrong, the student will get a refund of his/her re-evaluation fee.
Students who sat for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test -UG (NEET-UG) on May 5 can see their OMR sheets online. The board will also give students a chance to let the board know if they have been marked wrongly.
