An evening dedicated to performing arts

Amidst music, dance and appreciation of art, this dinner do held at a city hotspot on Sunday, was a classy affair. Deepika Reddy, Sonal Mansingh and Ananda Shankar Jayant spoke of the importance of promoting traditional arts, not just at home but also among the Indian diaspora spread across the globe. The guests nodded in agreement and applauded Ananda, who is using technology to take Bharatanatyam to the young generation.Guests were treated to a piano recital by Anil Srinivasan followed by a Bharatanatyam recital by the students of Shankarananda Kalakshetra.
