Akshya Gold depositors seek justice

HYDERABAD: A public interest petition was filed in the Hyderabad High Court seeking justice to scores of depositors, who were defrauded by Akshaya Gold group firms.
Akshaya Gold is facing cases of cheating the poor depositors in AP, Telangana, Karnataka and Odisha states. Akshaya Gold depositors and agents welfare association filed this plea urging the court to take similar steps as in the case of AgriGold case.
The persons who floated Akshaya Gold were ex-employees of AgriGold, the association's president Poornachndra Rao said in the plea.
As many as 150 depositors from poor background who lost their money on account of the fraud committed by Akshaya Gold, had committed suicides, he said and sought the intervention of the court.
