Akkineni award for Balachander

HYDERABAD: Noted writer, director and producer K Balachander has been chosen for the Akkineni Nageshwara Rao award for the year 2010.
The award, given by the Akkineni International Foundation, will be presented to Balachander at a ceremony on January 11, 2011, at Shilpakala Vedika.
Balachander will be honoured with a memento, citation and Rs 4 lakh cash.
The award instituted in 2005 by veteran Telugu actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao was first conferred on Dev Anand.Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanthimala Bali and Lata Mangeshkar are the other recipients of the award.
