HYDERABAD: A day after ousting residents of Bhimrao Wada, the district administration failed to provide basic amenities like drinking water and power at the alternate site given to the residents at JNNRUM Housing Scheme, Dhobighat, at Afzalsagar.
Though the administration provided accommodation to 96 families by Sunday afternoon, in many flats there was no electricity and drinking water supply.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has put up temporary water taps in front of each block. Though there are water connections in places, officials said it would take another two days to supply piped water.
"We have to crosscheck whether pipelines have been fixed or not in all the houses. Tanks were constructed in all blocks, but we have to look at their condition," AP Housing Corporation district manager L Ravi Kumar told TOI.
Meanwhile, revenue officials evicted 15 families who had unauthorisedly occupied the flats.
"It is very difficulty to bring a pot of drinking water from ground floor to second floor," Boya Saritha, a housewife, said.
The district administration officials provided breakfast and lunch to the oustees on Sunday too.
