Hyderabad: Telugu actress Aamani and make-up artist and Nandi Award winner Shobhalatha joined the BJP at the party's state headquarters on Saturday in the presence of Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao and Union minister G Kishan Reddy. Party leaders welcomed them by granting primary membership and draping them with party scarves. The actress said she joined the saffron party after being impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramchander said Shobhalatha had fought a legal battle to secure opportunities for women make-up artists in the Telugu film industry, and commended her struggle for women's rights. He also praised Aamani's contribution to the Telugu film industry, recalling her debut in the blockbuster ‘Jamba Lakidi Pamba' and her successful career spanning Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films, as well as television serials. Ramchander said both film personalities were inspired by the BJP's governance at the Centre and wished to serve the people of the state, adding that their induction would further strengthen the party.
