5 arrested in cheating case

VIJAYAWADA: The city police arrested five persons on Tuesday for trying to cheat people by launching a finance scheme on the Internet.
Police said the accused -- K Venkata Prasad, P Ramesh, P Rama Krishna, Ramasita Babu and Madhu Sudhan - residents of Hyderabad, Karimnagar and Vijayawada hosted a website www.safety.big.com at Hyderabad with a multi-level marketing scheme.
As per the scheme, people were asked to pay Rs 100 to open an e-mail account and the details of the account holder would be placed on the site. The enrolled person had to join four more persons that would fetch him commission. The accused were arrested at a hotel in the city.
