HYDERABAD: Suspecting to have given shelter to a relative who is said to have ''disappeared'' along with a city MLA''s niece, goons allegedly attacked a house in Humayunnagar and beat up four persons on Saturday.
According to M A Majid, an inmate of the house, the goons came to their house minutes after a Banjara Hills police station officer came enquring about their cousin Mohammed Akram, a resident of Tolichowki.
Akram is said to have disappeared with the MLA''s niece a week ago.
According to Majid, his brothers M A Sammad, M A Basith and his nephew Abdul Rab had to be taken to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment. This was confirmed by the Osmania General Hospital authorities.
Interestingly, minutes before the goondas arrived on the scene a Banjara Hills police station officer had been to their house and grilled them about Akram''s whereabouts.
However, the officer''s presence at the Humayunnagar residence is unexplained as according to the Banjara Hills police, no case pertaining to the girl''s disappearance was registered.
