Hyderabad: Three men from Narsapur town in Medak district drowned in a river in Siddipet district on Wednesday evening. Police fished out the bodies on Thursday and handed them over to the families after the postmortem.
According to Gajwel Inspector Ravi Raju, the deceased were Y Prasanth Yadav (27), K Anand Reddy (27), and K Vikas (26). "They were all residents of Narsapur and used to do private works locally," the inspector said.
The three friends went to attend a marriage reception in Toopran on Wednesday afternoon. After attending the reception, during the return journey, they took a detour and visited the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Nacharam under Gowraram PS limits. They went into the Haridra river, locally known as Haldi Vaagu, to take a dip and accidentally got drowned. Police identified the victims through the documents in their car parked near the river.
With the help of expert swimmers, police conducted a search in the water on Thursday morning and fished out the bodies. A case was registered under Section 194 of BNSS, and after the postmortem, the bodies were handed over to the families.
