HYDERABAD: Two Congress MLAs, Mungamuru Sridhra Krishna Reddy (Nellore city) and Adala Prabhakar Reddy (Sarvepalli) are all set to join
Telugu Desam party after January 23. The two influential leaders are waiting for chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's decision on floating a regional party in Seemandhra region.
Krishna Reddy, who got elected on the Prajarajyam ticket in 2009 became Congress member when the PRP merged with Congress.
He said to have met prominent TDP leaders on Saturday.
Talking to STOI, Krishna Reddy confirmed that he did meet some TDP leaders but not the party president Chandrababu Naidu.
"I have not taken any decision to join the TDP. It all depends on Kiran's plans to float a new party and I will wait till the end of next month," Reddy said.
He was hopeful that Kiran would make his stand clear on whether he will continue in the Congress or launch his own party, after January 23, the deadline to return the AP Reorganization Bill-2013 to the Centre by the Assembly.
Krishna Reddy said Congress had lost its ground in Seemandhra region because of its decision to bifurcate the state. ignoring the opposition from the people.
Congress sources believe that Sarvepalli MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy is also looking towards Telugu Desam party. Earlier, it was believed that he will be joining the YSR Congress. Now, he seems to have changed his mind and is in touch with TDP.
