HYDERABAD: Customs sleuths arrested a passenger coming from Singapore at RGI Airport when he was trying to smuggle in 2.449 kg gold on Friday.
Using the profiling technique, the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs has intercepted Mir Mohammed Hussain from Karnataka when he opted for a 'green channel' at the customs check area.
Mohammed came to Hyderabad from Singapore by Silk Air flight (MI 478).

During the frisking, Customs officials found two gold bars weighing 1 Kg each deftly concealed in the special pockets created in his trousers and shirt. The officials also seized a gold armlet weighing 449 grams from his possession.
The market value of the seized gold is Rs 74.43 lakh. Mohammed has been arrested and he will be produced before the court.
