YouTuber becomes actor
Hubballi: A known YouTuber from North Karnataka is debuting on the silver screen as a hero. Very soon, his movie will be screened across the state.
Mallu Jamkhandi and his team, who have a massive social media following, have now entered the cinema arena. The movie is titled 'Nannaki', which is set for release on April 21 in all malls in Bengaluru. It is also set for release in more than 40 theatres and various malls in north Karnataka.
The movie is directed by Mallu Jamakhandi himself. He has created a sensation on social media through his comedy videos. His YouTube videos have millions of views and go viral often.
Mallu said they made the movie to be screened in 3-4 theatres in North Karnataka. "When we took the movie to get Digital intermediate (DI) done, Umesh2, a noted expert in the Kannada industry suggested that we release the movie across the state after looking at the quality of the movie". Umesh of Lakshaveda Studio not only suggested the movie's release across the state but also helped them get Censor Board's approval and complete other formalities to screen the movie, said Jamakhandi.
The movie was shot in Jamakhandi town, and some parts in Kolhapur. Known singer Kailash Kher has sung a song in the movie, Nagendra Prasad penned the lyrics, and various artistes including theatre artistes and singers have sung and acted in the movie, said Mallu, adding that Shivaganga from Hospete is the female lead. Theatre artistes Babanna, Anand Hunnur and veteran actress Rekha Das also star in this movie.
"The duration of the movie is two hours. I have millions of followers who helped me a lot and I hope they will also extend their same support to the movie," he added.
